The ceremony was attended by his widow, Eileen (now known as Betty) and Jack Vowles, a former colleague who served with “Warby” in Malta in the early 1940’s. The coffin of Wing Commander Warburton was carried by Royal Air Force personnel from the Queens Colour Squadron, and the service was conducted by Royal Air Force Padre Squadron Leader Alan Coates with a reading by Air Marshal Sir Roderick Goodall, who are both based at Ramstein Air Base in southern Germany.
