    The Royal Air Force Atheltics Association Presidents Cup event took place at Royal Air Force Cosford on 23 May 2012. The event took the form of inter-unit competitions with the emphasis being placed upon mass-participation by mixed teams of male and female athletes. Men and women competed in seperate events, with points scored counting towars the combined team score, resulting in a single winning team. On the 17th June 2012 Royal Air Force Cosford held its annual Airshow, attended by thousands of people from across the country. Visitors to the Air Show also had the opportunity to visit the RAF Museum, also based at Cosford. Profits of this self-funding, family-oriented event go to the RAF Association, the RAF Benevolent Fund and to local charities. Notes for the Editor: RAF Cosford is home to the Headquarters of the Defence College of Aeronautical Engineering; RAF No1 School of Technical Training; RAF No1 Radio School; RAF School of Physical Training; plus a number of smaller RAF units and the Defence School of Photography. Caption: the Annual Royal Air Force Associations Conference was held this year at the Bournemouth International Centre, Bournemouth, Dorset.  The conference was opened on Saturday 18th May with the arrival of the National RAFA Standard, and on Sunday 19th May remembrance service was held on the seafront at Bournemouth, with a parade of all the Area and Branch Standards from across the country.

    TITLE: The Reburial of Wing Commander Adrian Warburton DATE: 14 May 2003 LOCATION: Durnbach, Bavaria, Germany PHOTOGRAPH BY: CPL HEIDI COX RAF CAPTION:Through the wind, hail and rain members of Queens colour Squadron bear the coffin of Wing Commander Adrian Warburton DSO DFC who has finally been laid to rest nearly 60 years after he went missing on a sortie over Southern Germany in 1944. The highly decorated Royal Air Force pilots remains were found in November 2002. A memorial was held on 14th May 2003 in the Pfarrkirche St Agidius, Gmund followed by his burial at the Durnbach War Cemetery. The ceremony was attended by his widow, Eileen (now known as Betty) and Jack Vowles, a former colleague who served with “Warby” in Malta in the early 1940’s. The coffin of Wing Commander Warburton was carried by Royal Air Force personnel from the Queens Colour Squadron, and the service was conducted by Royal Air Force Padre Squadron Leader Alan Coates with a reading by Air Marshal Sir Roderick Goodall, who are both based at Ramstein Air Base in southern Germany.
